TEFL / TESL Training Courses
Teach English as a Foreign or Second Language & Teach English Abroad!
The International Teacher Training Organization’s TEFL/TESL/TESOL Training Course distinguishes itself from other
TEFL/TESL/TESOL programs in several important areas.
1. The ITTO course has a higher practical teaching content than almost all other TEFL/TESL/TESOL training courses. That is,
we provide more actual classroom hours where trainee teachers teach genuine students of English. This is a very important
area of our course. Through our affiliation with ESL/EFL schools in Guadalajara, our trainees have access to gaining real
teaching experience with English students of these sister schools. It is an opportunity that other TEFL/TESL/TESOL schools
cannot offer. We continually assess our trainees in order to give them the constant feedback necessary to alter and improve
personal teaching skills as needed to become an effective teacher. Assessment of our students is arranged as follows.
- 60% - Teaching Practice
- 30% - Fulfillment of assignments and participation in class
- 10% - Grammar and Phonetics (Click here for example)
The teaching practice (TP) grade is the most important; the student’s overall grade cannot exceed the TP grade. There is
a written element to accredit those trainees who are strong in academic work. Class participation is to be understood as active
participation and not mere presence in class. The preparation of assignments should be taken seriously. Successful trainees
receive an official certificate showing completion of the course and an overall grade. Certificates are also issued with a
report from ITTO, describing the individual’s performance during their teaching practice. Our training center is always
prepared to serve as a personal reference for graduates and issue further information to employers if requested. Guide to
Grades The certificate will only be awarded to trainees whose performance meets course requirements and all criteria of
assessed components. Requirements:
- Attend the entire course
- Observe experienced TEFL teachers teaching real students for a minimum of six hours
- Complete a minimum of ten hours of teaching practice at different language levels with real students of English
(additional teaching practice may be arranged)
- Maintain and submit a portfolio of all written assignments and materials related to the course
- Submit a total of four written assignments
GRADE A: Distinction
An "A" grade is awarded to candidates whose performance has been significantly higher than the required level in all areas
of the course. GRADE B: Merit
This grade is awarded to trainees whose performance has been higher than the required level in teaching practice. GRADE C: Pass
Candidates who achieve this grade have satisfied all course requirements.
2. The ITTO TEFL/TESL/TESOL certificate is synonymous with quality and is held in high regard by language schools around the
world. Graduates of our course earn a TEFL/TESL/TESOL certificate of true international recognition. Our certificate holders
are often employed before teachers who hold a TEFL certificate from other TEFL/TESL/TESOL training programs.
3. ITTO runs a comprehensive Job Guidance Program where we assist graduates of our course in finding teaching jobs in Mexico,
Europe and Asia. We can guarantee university graduates who successfully complete our course a paid teaching job in Mexico,
and direct contacts worldwide for those graduates who would like to teach elsewhere. This is one of our most attractive
guarantees and also includes a lifetime of job assistance. We help our graduates find respectable teaching positions for
the duration of their careers.
4. Students who graduate from our course have easy access to teaching jobs in Mexico. With our guaranteed job placement in
Mexico we can assure you that we will have secured a job for you within two weeks of you completing our course. This may be
particularly attractive to people who want to live and work in the Mexican culture while learning the language and culture.
5. Free to our students we offer a Self-Access Multimedia Lab with over 40 computers with unlimited internet access and a
variety of different language learning programs. Specifically, our Language Lab has the CALL program, or Computer Assisted
Language Learning, for those interested in working on their Spanish skills. Our students have the privilege of using these
facilities during our course and afterwards too. We offer classes year round. To check on our course dates and review
students’ comments visit our main website, http://www.teflcertificatecourses.com/. We can even put you in contact
with our graduates who are now teaching if you would like to hear a student’s point of view.
If you would like to attend a TEFL/TESL/TESOL course that exceeds international criteria and also gives you a genuine feel
